I took Otto on a long bike ride yesterday. We tried out the path through Washington/Jefferson park on the way to the library. The bad part of the path was that it was too twisty and turny for me to realize I was heading up a very steep hill to the overpass-height railroad crossing until it was too late to turn back, resulting in me barely making it to the highest point of the path... but the best part was the view from the top.
This is about 2/3rds of the bike parking in front of the Eugene Public Library (I couldn't get far enough away to get it all in the shot!), with my bike and trailer in the foreground. This woman walking out of the library actually had the audacity to say "it's a SIDEWALK!" in this super-irritating voice when I slowly rode up looking for a rack to lock to. WTF? This is basically a bicycle parking lot with a sidewalk through it. I don't think it's unreasonable for people to ride on this one little piece of sidewalk.
