moved.
We are moved! And we have a functional (but not yet complete, pretty or Otto-safe) bathroom!
Let me tell you, taking a shower in a brand new tub/shower with everything absolutely out-of-the-box new (only used by Sean and my dad before me) is an amazing feeling. No one else's mildew, mold, clogged or leaky pipes, nothing! After a billion rentals, this is the greatest thing EVER.
And there was only one OH FUCK moment for the whole move! Our box spring won't fit up the staircase. After having a mini-meltdown brought on by fantasies of having to sleep in the living room, and then crying on Michelle's shoulder for a minute, I got it together. We'll either build a platform bed or figure out some other solution. It sure isn't the end of the world.
So, we're moved! Our house is out-of-control right now and I feel like I'm camping living out of these boxes, but we'll get it all sorted away soon enough. I already hooked up the TV and its various accoutrements so I could park Otto in front of Sesame Street Old School while I'm working on unpacking. We still don't have the computer set up (the room it's going in isn't finished yet), or the stereo, but we're making progress. We've had to concentrate on the larger construction job so we can get my dad back home.
I am SO excited about not moving again for a long time. I've moved 13 times in the last 14 years and now I'm done! Mega thank-yous to Jeff (who drove our stuff in his truck), Michelle, Eve and Diego who lifted and toted, and Jen who watched Otto all day so we could move without him underfoot.
Oh, and no internet means no LJ, so I'm skimming but if I missed anything exciting, please let me know!
