03.10.07 - Ottostickerface (cameraphone)
We had a very busy (and fun) day yesterday, and I completely forgot to drag my camera around, so the only pictures I took were with my phone. I had to get one of Otto with the stickers that Ruthanne stuck all over his face (he has them on his cheeks and his chin, as well).
In the morning, I had my first adventure in baking while Otto was awake and no other adults were around. It was interesting. He played with his toys for a while, and played with kitchen implements for a while, and interrupted numerous times, but after 2.5 hours we finally had a (delicious) carrot cake.
In the afternoon, Otto and I went over to play with Alpha and Ruthanne and Charlie, and Sonya and Livia came and joined us. Alpha and Sonya were smart enough to bring some stitching with them, but I just chatted empty-handed while the kids played. It was nice to get Otto some more play time with kids his own age. We're talking about making it a regular thing, a ladies craftin'/kiddos play time, while the dads can escape for a little solo-time.
Then we had our neighbors over for dinner, which was great. They're really busy (she works in Portland, he's starting up a brewery), so we hardly ever see them, and it was nice to have a little visit time. Otto was apprehensive about them at first, but then warmed up and was his usual flirty/fun self.
We capped off the day by watching a couple episodes of Wonder Showzen on DVD (and we let Otto watch, too - we are bad parents!), which was hilarious, and I can't wait to see more.
