Hodgepodge of randomness
Almost all of you are at VividCon right now. Well, you're sleeping at VividCon (I hope!), but still.

About a week ago, brooklinegirl made a really interesting post about fandom and sexuality that I found fascinating and that made me reevaluate lots of personal stuff. I commented here, if anyone is interested. (Much easier to link to an already-written comment than to compose my own post. I am nothing if not lazy.) :D
I had to answer a short questionnaire on my first day of work and send it to everyone in the company - kind of like a welcome thing - and for "What would you be doing if you weren't in the high tech industry?", I said "I would watch sci-fi television all day and get overly emotionally involved in the lives of fictional characters. Oh, wait, I do that anyway." And now I've gotten at least 10 emails from other employees saying "omg me too!" Some are Buffy fans and some are BSG fans and some are Star Trek fans, and it's awesome. After 5 years, I have finally learned how to proudly own up to my geeky fannishness in real life. YAY.
One of the guys from the training program here is from Scotland, and has the sexiest accent you've ever heard, and I SWEAR TO GOD he looks exactly like a young Carson Beckett. I'll see if I can covertly take a picture of him somehow.
And speaking of pictures, I will of course be uploading a lot more later, but for now, this is my favorite picture that I've taken so far:
