Gacked from
vagabondage, although I've seen it pop up in several other places on the flist since then:
Today is World AIDS Day. If you go to
this site (and wait for the flash animation to finish), you can click anywhere on the map to light a candle, and in return one dollar will be donated for AIDS research. It takes a minute of your time at most. For more information about World AIDS Day, including listings of local events and other things you can do to help, the official site is
here.

In other news (well, it hardly qualifies as "news", but whatever):
sisabet and the rest of the Village People will find this amusing. I went out to lunch today with some coworkers, and on the way back one woman studied me for a second and said "Did you cut your hair?" "Yes," I replied, "and I also colored it last night." She then exclaimed "Oh, I thought so! I just love it! It looks so SHINY!"
I nearly choked on my drink. So, okay Liz, you were right. You were RIGHT. Happy now?
*desperately hopes there are no bitchy hellgods out there looking for her*
I finally finished my
response to the
Vidder Friending Meme! Looking up all those links is hard, yo.
Am so very very behind on commenting to others' posts. Mea culpa. I'll just use this as an opportunity to offer hugs and squee and support and love to all of you, in lieu of any individual replies I've missed or forgotten.
Tegan and Sara performed in Nashville on Tuesday night! And I did not know about it until afterwards!!! Curses!! My disappointment has nothing to do with my longstanding crush on Tegan. Nope, not at all.
And finally, a sooper-sekrit message for
katearbor, who is My Favorite: Friend me back, dammit! :)
