I seem to have acquired quite a few new friends this week. ::waves to all the new folks:: Hiya, suckers! (TM
mrmonkeybottoms) I suspect you all wandered over due to the new video. Hmmm, maybe I should make those more often. Well, I will try my very best not to bore anyone to death.
I'm now in that depressing post-post-vidding funk phase. You know, the one that comes right after the exhilarating post-vidding high. It's when you finally release the vid you've been working on forever, and you are so nervous about how it will be received - oh crap, everyone's going to HATE it, what was I thinking? - which is only ameliorated by the relief you feel at finally being done with the stupid thing, and then out of the blue comes feedback! glorious feedback! they like it, they really LIKE it!! wow!! and you get compliments, and there is discussion of vid themes and editing and technical tricks, and a couple very smart people give you pointers, which you are thankful for, and you are in the spotlight for a moment and it's just so damn FUN, and then it is over. the feedback dries up. people move on to the next thing, and you are right back where you started: "In-Between Projects". standing in the corner at a party thinking "hey, where'd everybody go?" and discreetly smelling your armpits just to make sure your deodorant didn't wimp out on you and drive everyone away. Thus, the depressing post-post-vidding funk. Yep. That's me. I suppose the only cure is to make another vid in order to get my feedback fix. See, I knew there was a reason this hobby was so addictive. :)
In other news, I went out shopping today and bought clothes. Actual clothes. I don't think there's anything in my closet that is less than 2 years old, so this is quite a big step for me. I used to love clothes-shopping, you know, back when I had money with which to buy them. Money good. Unemployment bad. I speak from experience.
Anyway, I bought some stuff to wear on job interviews and to the (theoretical) office and so forth, since my entire wardrobe consists of T-shirts and jeans. My prize, the item I am most proud of and cannot wait to wear, is my Harmony Suit. I call it the Harmony Suit because it is a light pink suit jacket and a light pink skirt, and it looks exactly like something Harmony would have worn last season on AtS. In fact, it looks very similar to this (courtesy of
cappiness.net):
Except it is a bit more buttoned-down and professional (i.e. my boobs do not pop out of it like hers do). And I might need to lose a couple pounds before I can wear it with complete confidence. And I don't look even remotely like Mercedes McNab. But other than that, it's Just The Same!! Ha.
And now I have to go watch The Butterfly Effect, because I rented it from Blockbuster and it has to go back tonight. Not all that crazy about Ashton Kutcher, but the whole time-travel thing just sounded too good to pass up, and everyone I know has been squeeing over it. So off I go.
