High-definition television is REALLY REALLY PRETTY.

I've had a beautiful 52-inch plasma TV for years (named after Geoffrey Tennant, of course) but I never had HD TV because my TiVo was one of the older standard definition models, and all TV signals were routed through there. DVDs look great, of course, but regular TV looked ... well, I thought it looked fine! But I finally got a Tivo Premiere XL and hooked it up this weekend, and. Just. OMFG.
EVEN MATT BOMER'S PORES ARE BEAUTIFUL. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE.
So um yeah, I have been a TV zombie for the past 5 days and recording/watching everything in sight just to sit and stare and flap my hands and go "so preeeeeeeeeeetty! And BIG! And preeeeeeeetty!" I am finally catching up on White Collar (srsly you guys, you have to come stare at Matt Bomer on my television. It's UNNATURAL, is what), and watching random eps of things like Will & Grace and Futurama, and somehow I got addicted to Degrassi season 10 (I don't even know), and I have a season pass for Covert Affairs because Piper Perabo in SD is kinda pretty but Piper Perabo in HD is DEAR GOD WHERE'S MY JAW, and my TiVo is so helpful in my new addiction that it is auto-recording things that it thinks I might like such as Robot Chicken and the original Stargate movie and NCIS, and I downloaded the pilots of Breaking Bad and 30 Rock for free, and and and!
I am never leaving my couch again. It amuses me that I thought of myself as a TV fan in my past life. I want to go back to the me of more than a week ago and pet her on the head and go "oh honey. You don't even KNOW. Just you wait."
(I also need a name for the new TiVo and new universal remote. The old TiVo was Rodney McKay because it knew everything, and the old remote was Cordelia Chase because it was controlling and it glowed. ...I make my own fun.)
