The Winter Sickness

Aye, aye, aye, what a week! And it's only Wednesday. Thank goodness for the distraction of Lost tonight.

ES has been sick since Sunday was a week ago. Was out of school last Monday and Tuesday, felt better and went to school Wednesday, then called me in 1st period Thursday saying he felt like he'd been hit with a load of bricks, was coughing horribly deep and nasty-sounding, we went to the doc and he was diagnosed with acute sinusitis and put on antibiotics. He stayed sick Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday his fever spiked and I called the doctor and we worried over it. Finally got the fever down Sunday night and he has not run one since. Yet Monday the cough worsened, Tuesday he began to wheeze and by the time I got home from work was complaining of chest pains when he inhaled. He'd been coughing so bad I feared he'd cracked a rib, or that he had bronchitis at the least and pneumonia at the worst. So we spent last night at the ER, geting EKG, chest x-ray, breathing treatments doctor visits yadda yadda and determined that it was intramuscular soreness of the chest wall (or something like that) due to the prolonged coughing, worsened by a raging asthma episode that had his lungs so constricted he was having a lot of trouble breathing and hurting him with every breath he took. We got home around 12:30 this morning and of course YS had to be up and at school so I was up at 6:30. I'm getting too old for this. So tired my eyeballs hurt. Going to hit the hay as soon as Lost ends.

Could there be a sickfic in here somewhere? ;-)
