some days, the bear will eat you.

I have a uke. I don't have pictures. It sounds like a little harp, and has real tuning pegs and abalone inlay. I can play 4 songs on it, or so, and I can read the chords pretty well.

I also have an MP3 player, which means I'm recording all sorts of goodies. I also have this amazing program on my computer right now with which I am recording albums. albums from the eighties. Remember how I love Joan Armatrading, but she's never on the internet? I'm going to record all of our albums and put them on my MP3 player. (And on yousendit.) And I'm going to go to people's houses with my usb cable and my mp3 player and secretly put all of her albums on their computers.

and the monkey song. I'm getting to the monkey song, don't worry. I'll post that here, too. Everyone needs some Harry Belafonte.

I'm also making an amazing dress for a masked ball that I'm going to on Friday. I hope I'm ready in time. I still don't have shoes. The mask I got makes the entire costume look incredibly tacky (in a good way.) But my hair makes it really bad. WHAT TO DO!?!?!

I think I'm just going to gel it all back and find some blue flowers. Yes. Maybe I'll wear the roman soldier sandals?

Then the next day, THIS SATURDAY, is the Kite festival in Vanier Park. You'd better all be there.

My cousin Simon is giving me a bike, too. He's like, "I hope you don't mind: it's purple." To which I said, "PFFFFFFT!" Because, really, if you were going to buy a new bike wouldn't "purple" be on the top of your list of criteria?

Plus, I'm probably working at a kayak club this summer.

So, let's sum this all up. Ukulele. Purple bike. Kayaking with kids. Harry Belafonte and eighties folk/pop on a portable mp3 player. Crazy tacky dress for formal occasions. Kites and kite festivals.

Life is a pretty sweet fruit.
