I often wish I could talk to some of my favorite published authors and ask them if they have moments such as I have.

1. Do you stare at the screen and wonder, "What now?"
2. Do you grow disheartened if your story doesn't make the bestseller list, receives few positive printed reviews, or gets totally panned by a rude critic?
3. Do you depend so much on your current editor that if she/he quits the position, you feel totally helpless?
4. If your royalties depended on the number of printed reviews you got, would you starve to death?
5. Do you frequently compare yourself to other authors in your field, and feel envious of their success?
6. Do you truly appreciate your own writing skills?
7. Do you write for fun, or strictly for praise/profit?
8. If you published a book that sold fewer than a hundred copies, would you be too discouraged to ever go to all that time and effort again, or would the praise of a few be enough for you to continue writing?
9. Are your characters mirrors of your innermost heart?
10.Do you base your success on how much you sell, or how good you feel about the story you've just told?

Just wondering.
