Here is pretty much my report from ORC, I posted it in bits at the BBB.
Shared a room with Kathleen, Karen and Sarah from teh BBB. had a BLAST running into everyone I know, Sandi, Kirsty and Jonathon from Scotland and England, meeting teh Beecake Myspace fans, Kat, Davette, kaze, and Mio and the girls from Japan. Seeing Canadian Penny, Robin and olatti aka Flora who won the BBB Ebay picture. I drank beer for teh first time since I puked it up in high school back in the Jurrasic era. Anyway.. on to the report as it happened....
OMGOMGOMG!! I have to make this quick, forgive all the typos, its late and we have to get up early! THE BAND WAS GREAT!! BILLY WAS/IS CRAZY SEXY! During the show we heard some guys heckling Billy, telling him to "Speak English" "Show us your cock" Turns out it was ORLANDO BLOOM AND VIGGO MORTENSON! I remember feeling bad for Billy that he was being heckled, and how sweet and good natured he handled it. Now I know it was Viggo, Orlando and Shox. I feel bad for my poor sister, she LOVES Orlando and felt bad having to miss ORC... now she feels even WORSE knowing Orlnado was there!
Seriously!! It feels like it was a dream now. Billy was in his vest (waistcoat), and looked AMAZING! His voice sounded a bit deeper and a wee bit gravely, probably from teh travelling , jet lag, etc, but he sounded perfect!
So, after the incredible show, I go over to the side of the bar and see Billy talking to some fans, I wait my turn and mind you it is VERY dark in there, I see a woman holding a baby and walking past me quick, It was Ali and JACK! So Billy walks past me next and I stop him to tell him what a great show it was we went in for a hug and teh next thing I know we are hugging and I feel his lips on my cheek! HE KISSED MY CHEEK!!!!!! BILLY KISSED MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I quickly kissed him back and told him it was a great show and I cant wait tio see it tomorrow! And I asked if taht was Jack and he said yes and had this huge smile when he showed me a pair of tiny headphones so it wouldnt be too loud for jack! OMG! I only saw a quick glimpse and it was dark, BUT BILLY KISSED MY FLIPPIN' CHEEK!!!!!!!!
Then after Billy leaves, Rick walks past me and HE KISSSED ME TOO! I think I called him sweetheart! I have one of Billy's guitar picks too!
We saw DaVatte, Sandy and Kirsty, the sweet girls from Beecake JA, Robin and Penny fromn bbloons and I have lots of pictures and a small video that was all my camera would hold.
The boys were at the brunch, and they were very accessable and friendly. I finally got to talk to Billy J which was great, he is a great guy, very friendly and funny. Not at all shy like I pictured him to be. He laughed when he told me that in teh 80's Billy looked just like Pippin! Long curly hair! OMG!!
I have quite a few pictures of this which I will post. Billy brought some great stuff to teh auction, HIS DIESEL JEANS, his spandex jump suit from TFS, an MTV pass from the first time they were on MTV, John had an autographed drum skin, and he drew an amazing picture of Billy which was autographed too, a knit weta hat, and some Beecake items.
I felt like I monopolized Billy at the Brunch again, I know we talked about so many things, but I forget most of it. When he walked past me to go to the first table, he spotted me and smiled and said "Oh Hi! How are you?" He sat between me and Kaze, and we chatted first about Jack, I asked how the plane trip was for him and he said he slept through dinner. I'll try to add more as my brain cells return!
He got to our table and I spent a bit of time chatting with him about various things, sadly we did not tape it.
: ( My mind has gone blank about everything...Billy had been here for a while, about a month... and was in Hawaii surfing with a famous pro surfer whose name escapes me. I think it may have been the one Dom said he was in love with and shared an ice cream with. We talked about Jack for a minute, he said it was Jacks first time on a plane and they had a special seat for him, but if there was turbolence, he had to hold him and buckle up. But there was so much turbolence, and he was in and out so much, that he ended up just holding Jack and he fell asleep on him.
Ali and Jack were in for a moment, I did not get to see them up close, but Kathleen did, she has a cute story to tell. There was this one woman who was walking around and walked right up to Billy and she busrt into tears meeting him! She was shaking all over and crying! So sweet!
I gave him the BEAUTIFUL Beecake shirt Laura made him for Jack, the Beecake glass bead charm that Babzee gave him and Karen gave him her music CD and the Mio gave him baby fuzzy jacket that was sweet, Kaze gave him 2 BBB/ Beecake pictures she made.
I know I am missing a lot because I chatted with him quite a bit, but after he left, John came by and sat at our table for a bit. (he is sweet on Kathleen!)
I donated a Oor Wullie book personalized by Billy at ELF last year to the bbloons charity auction and I think it went for $50.00 which was nice.
The gig was AWESOME!! They left the lights on so all the videos and pictures came out well. Billy sounded GREAT and BJ came out in a KILT!! Just about killed us who manged to crawl up to the front.... me DaVette and Kaze and a few others!
I only took a few videos becuase my camera only hold so much, but I did get some great pictures during and after! I will upload those next. I got a play list which the boys later autographed for me and I got all the CD's for everyone who wanted one from me and a surprise for you all too : )
After the gig, I went to the hotel bar and saw Kristy and Sandi and I stayed and drank MORE BEER this time Corona which I liked, and we talked crap all night!
Ok… a quick report on Billy's panel. Before Billy came out, there was a fan video about Aragorn and Arwen. Billy cane out and said he was distracted by Viggo kissing, and that Viggo had kissed him with more passion than he did Liv! Then Billy came did some odd talking about wings for some reason. What kind of wings are there and if you could have winds what kind would you have? Eagle, bat wings, humming birds, dragon fly? Then how about angel wings? (Small rant about angels). "Are there angles in THIS room?" We'd have to strip to the waist and look for wings to see if there were any angels among us. Then Billy noticed that 3 people had left the room, "probably angels"... "or they had to pee…. Do angles pee?" Alrighty then Billy! But it plays into a lot of his rants later on too and I have videos of it.
The Saturday night gig again was GREAT! I saw DaVette sneak up to the fron on teh floor so I followed her and we sat right in front of Billy. GREAT views, girls let me tell you! After the gig, kathleen (THANK YOU DOLL!) nabbed me a hand written play list. I had the boys all sign it for me and Billy J told me that was his handwritting. I also managed to get a couple guitar pics from BJ that had the Beecake name on them!
Not that it surprises me that Billy friends would be a wonderful and gracious as he is, but it sure was a pleasure meeting them and getting their squishy hugs. They are all sweet and warm guys and I hope they had as good of a time as we did. Rick recognized me right away and smiled and waved to me. I teased BJ about him being the shy reclusive member with no MySpace and he said he didnt know how to do one! Awwww! Hopefully he will soon!
I had a nice hug from daisy at the Autograph line. I was the last person in line for his and Billy's autgraphs (a long horrible story) and his handlers thought he was finished. So I am standing there seeing Daisy get up and start to leave! I managed to stop him and let him know I wanted an autograph too! He laughed and went back for a pen and signed my picture and I also got a nice full hug from his as well.
When I got to Billy, I had him sign Laura's Beecake shirt, my picture of us from last ORC and the Ebay Beecake picture Elaine bought. We also had time for a short chat about Trees for Life as well. He told me he was happy to see the numbers go so high! I asked him if he checked that sight out and he said yes, he did, I told him that TFL even put his picture signing the knickers in their brochure and challenged everyone to try to top that! He seemed to enjoy that. I then wished him luck on the gig that night, and he said "Oh you are going too" Like I would miss that! In fact, I think I even said I wouldnt miss it for the world!
OH, and Kirsty, Sandi, and Jonathon and I shared a van to the airport with Sassywitch! What a nice surpise!
