...and I'll blow out her northern lights.
What a party last night. Well, not so much a party as hanging out for hours on end. And seeing lots of people I hadn't seen in a good while, or, rather, I had seen them, just never for extended periods of time. Also, the size of the DR graduation list in comparison to the S1 list is hilarious. :3 Bwahaha.
We played frisbee and volleyball and Never Have I Ever (Feeny, Jen and Sam lost muchly...thought I think I got caught on plenty of stuff too) and ran around like morons and then collapsed in a heap on the patio/porch thing. Too bad the pool was out of comission, I was about ready to jump in it. It's so damn hot and sticky out now and it's SAD. :(
And now I'll let you in on my latest obsession.
I finally found Joes Strummer & the Mescaleros downloads and -- holy freakin' crap -- it's intense. Forget what the Clash sounded like, this is an entirely different ball game, it's more world-accoustic-folk-rock, but it's still all Joe Strummer, perhaps even more straight up than when he was leading the Clash. The lyrics are whimsical and political and nonsensical all at once combined with several talented musicians.
Perks: even though he punk days were long behind him, Mr. Strummer still seems to have written and played strictly rhythm guitar with basic open and power chords. This means kinda-easy-to-learn for me. Ha ha! So, safe to say I'm all googly eyed over this band.

Silver and Gold I'm all graduated and liberated but I don't quite feel like celebrating, per se. I'd like to sit down with a gallon of iced tea and several novels and do absolutely nothing. Factor a guitar in there somewhere, I need to practice...and find my tuner. I can't do that whole fifth fret thing, it sounds awful.
