I THINK SEX IS OVERRATED!

I think sex is overrated,
so is always getting wasted.

Classic rock is so out-dated.
I hate therapy

How can I be satisfied
when everything is so overrated?
It always makes me think, when I get my hands on another one of their albums, that it's a shame that they aren't on the radio -- they sound like some upbeat pop band with a horns section. They're catchy and some of their band members are pretty. ( If you've seen Avant Tarde, you also know that they are all off their collective nuts when they have spare time. This include filming their, er, "big boned" sax player eating and then sleeping in the tub. ) They write well and have a more mature sound, though. They've had time to get that pop punk down. Over ten years.
So why isn't Christopher Demakes the pop punk poster boy with his blond faux-hawk, flashy blue eyes and wonderful shit-eating grin? Beats me. Prolly beacuse his is over thirty ( no definite age on any of the band members, but they have to be that old, easy ) and does have a double chin. I wish they were on Warped this year.
But the Buzzcocks are on Warped this year, and that is reason to go. The only reason, thus far. It's a shame I couldn't go last year -- MCR and Dropkick Murphys! I wouldn't mind going to Ozzfest ( Disturbed and System of a Down ) if I wasn't so terribly afriad of getting killed. Because I would get killed or seriously maimed. I am not a metalhead and never will be.
But, speaking of punk, Hot Topic is throwing salt at the indignant 'old-school' crowds. Hell, seeing the Dead Kennedys being promoted with Atryeu ( who I really can't stand ) made my blood boil as well as the new "special" edition of Fresh Fruit, with bonus DVD. While this will certainly attract some Atryeu fans to listen to the Dead Kennedys, I seriously doubt if they will become fans. The sound is a bit of an accquired taste, in the end.
I hated 'real' punk rock. Loathed all the music I like now, but I think the only reason I stuck with it was that I did not want to be called emo anymore. Sort of a weird reason to pick up a Black Flag or Social Distortion album and resolve to listen to it until you knew all the words and all the riffs to the exact moments they occured. Eventually, I figured out that some of this shit is smarter that modern rock!
That does not make me refrain from my nickname for punk.

So, in light of things only getting worse, I have a new fan fic in the works. "Sunny Days and Rain", yeah . . . like the Ben Folds song ( It was pain, sunny days and rain. I knew you'd feel the same things ), so . . . oh pooh it you think it's lame. I get to write my favorite character with a chronic drinking problem and some good old fashioned depression!
Excuse me -- Anime Boston! Anime Boston! Four more weeks, Anime Boston! ( Rocky will no doubt understand this little sing song voice and equate it with dog perverts. ) I actually got to watch quite a bit of dubbed anime this week: Paranoia Agent, Trigun ( really liked that ), Full Metal Panic! and DNAngel after Marshall threw the remote at me. Band Monday! Shall say how that goes.
