plans are materializing. not a minute too soon. took mom to lunch today (had a $50 gift certificate from work that i figured i'd better use while i still worked there) and we both had to lie to my dad so he wouldn't pitch a fit, and then later at home we both had to sample his cooking despite our lack of hunger for the same reason. also got to listen to him rant about how worksite daycare is a form of discrimination against childless or married employees because it takes their money and pays to benefit only a small portion of employees who are single parents. uh huh... really the best part of every day is the point where he drinks himself to sleep, and days when that doesn't happen i just hide upstairs.
at this point my last day of work is the 11th. still working 60-hour weeks till then, but afterwards i will take a week or so and spend some time in athens and decompress a bit. work is so much more bearable since i know that no matter what goes down it won't be my problem after the 11th. still having shifts where i get a total of 8 customers, so you can understand my frustration, but we'll see what happens and whether or not mother's day is worth doing, which kind of determines when i'll go up to nyc for recon and apartment/job-hunting.
still a tiny bit scared, but totally excited, and so, so, so ready to restart my life. also enjoying the fact that since i am leaving, i no longer have a reputation to worry about, which means i can proposition hot guys i know and have a little fun before i get out of here, fun which is well overdue...
