Summary: Kibum (Or known as Key) hated where he lived a lot. It was the same routine everyday ... But who said something couldn't mess it up in such a good way?

Kibum hated this town. Period.

It was so boring and cheap to have the same things happening every day instead of something new like Chicago or New York. How badly he wanted to leave the uneventful town.

But he couldn’t. His parents were elderly and required attention. He had to take care of them; he had to stay in the god forsaken place. Oh, how he promised himself that once they died, he was moving out of this place quick.

The pain of knowing how far away he was from a city. The pain of being stuck in this boring place. Home was quiet, work was stupid, and the citizens had an old-fashioned or just little to no brain. He knew he was so much better than them. He was so high that he could even crown himself king of this place, turning everything around.

All his friends moved out of this place with the same thoughts years ago after they graduated. Jinki became a music teacher in Seoul, Taemin became a dance instructor for SME, and Minho became a famous rapper in a well-known group called Super Junior.

How unfair, it was.

He couldn’t become a fashion editorialist in the states. He would’ve totally been famous.

But no, he was stuck here. Every. Day.

With boredom at its peak, Key dragged himself out of the dull shopping center. Easily, he bought out every item in all the lacking stores and had plenty of money to spare. He bet if he wasn’t here, he’d probably be out of money, and right now, he thought it would be better.

Key sighed and sat on a bench, taking a rest before getting in his car and leaving. It took a lot of strength to keep himself from driving off and never coming back. It was so hard that it became annoying.

He tilted his head back, inhaling the boring and stale air. He swore his brain was going to explode from just this atmosphere. It felt so dead.

There was much peace here for the folks. But to Key, this peace was his death. It was too quiet and too hands-off and he wanted the exact opposite.

He wanted out.

As he exhaled, he felt pressure on his left foot, and was ready to scold the person stepping on him. Doesn’t anyone in this town have any decency?

He pulled his head up, finding no one there. He looked down to his feet and erased his scowl.

A little puppy was all slowly over him, sniffing and rubbing against his leg adorably.

Key lost all his annoyance in this world and picked up the puppy, sitting him on his lap to get a good look.

The puppy (assumed it was a boy because of his boyish parts) had a curled poofy tail, the softest looking light brown fur with the exception of white fur around his nose, no collar, and large, irresistible dark eyes.

The problem was that the puppy seemed thin for his size, and his fur was covered in who knows what. He sneezed here and there and pawed at his face as if something was in his eye.

Key smiled and stroked the soft (and dirty . . .) fur, watching the puppy’s eyes brighten and his tail wag.

Key looked around the puppy to look for a nametag or even a collar that could be dangling somewhere or possibly around, but he never found one. The puppy had no leash, no name, and no claim.

Oh, how this puppy was cute.

“Are you alone?” Key asked cutely, scratching the euphoric animal on the head.

And as if he understood, the puppy nodded on cue.

“Do you have no home?” Key asked, not taken aback.

The puppy got up and pulled his paws to his chest, whining by Key’s mouth. Key lightly chuckled and stroked the animal again, rubbing his nose against him.

They puppy’s eyes were absolutely too adorable and so big that Key couldn’t look away from them. They were precious, and most likely eyes you wouldn’t find in an average dog. This god possessed major beauty and yet he was casted aside.

“You’re quite the dirty one,” he laughed and hugged the puppy, “But you’re so cute and so . . . new that I can’t discard you.”

Key was right. Every day it’d been a repeating schedule around a clock. But today, this little fellow came, and now his schedule was clearly messed up and Key was feeling so grateful about it. He was going to take this puppy in and let it add a little something different in his life. Now instead of coming home with no reason to live, he’d come home to see, feed, and clean his little puppy.

He was no longer alone.

“I’m going to keep you,” he stated and cradled the puppy in his arms while getting up to walk to his car. He opened the door and turned the air conditioning on before putting the puppy on the front seat. The puppy barked brightly as Key got in and shut the door, “We’re going home.”

The puppy’s eyes were shining of happiness and relief before he decided to jump on Key, who was about to start driving.

“H-Hey!” Key laughed and stroked him, the puppy cuddling on his shoulder. Key sighed amused and let the puppy stay there as he drove. No one would catch him driving with one hand; it shouldn’t matter.

He drove to the apartment complex and got out of the car with the dog still on his shoulder. Key cooed and complimented the pretty puppy as he walked up the stairs.

The puppy’s tail wagged madly in interpreted excitement each flight of stairs Key climbed. This puppy was finally getting a decent home and owner, and Key knew the puppy would be excited to live his life better.

“Alright, here we are,” he whispered enthusiastically as he opened his door, closing it before rushing to the kitchen, “I usually have dog treats for my cousin’s dog. I bet you’ll eat them well, right?” He reached above the fridge and pulled a bag of dog treats from it. The dog hopped from his shoulder to the counter, waiting for his food.

Key chuckled and opened the bag, placing a few puppy treats in front of him. The puppy immediately began engulfing the food in front of him like he’d never eaten before and Key felt so happy to help.

Key smiled as he stroked the puppy’s back as he ate, admiring such a beautiful puppy. Who wouldn’t take him? He’s bound to have been seen on the streets. Are these citizens so bland that they couldn’t let another creature besides a human in to their lives?

No.

“Hm, I should name you, little pup,” he cocked his head sideways and stared, “Chewie? Minnie? Maybe even Poptart-God, how unrealistic I am,” he slapped his forehead. He walked to his fridge and played around with the alphabet magnets on there, finding a name.

“J . . . Jong . . . I like that start. Jong . . . Min . . . No. Jong . . . Ho . . . Ew, no. Jong . . . Key? Oh, who names a pet with their own name?” Kibum sighed and just ran his hand across the fridge, moving letters.

It caught his attention as to what the stray letters in a messy pile next to ‘Jong’ formed.

“Jong . . . H-” he aligned the letters, “-yun?” he lifted a brow and looked at the puppy, “Jonghyun?”

The puppy’s head lifted from the counter.

“Ah, so you like it, Jonghyunnie. That will be your name, alright, Jonghyun?” Key cooed and pulled both hands to the puppy’s neck, massaging him lightly, “It’s going to be you and me, Jonghyun. Soon, we’ll be out of here and we’ll live life together. You’ll look nice because I’ll clean you up, you’ll get some fat on you because I plan on feeding you everything in my damn boring fridge, and you’ll grab many people’s hearts with those eyes of yours like you did with me.”

The puppy barked and licked Key’s face, giving him a slobber trail on his cheek. Key chuckled as he took it the puppy agreed and shook his head, totally discarding the fact nasty saliva was on his face.

“We’re going to live together forever, Jonghyun, just you and me.”

--- Note~ ---

Hello~

As I promised, I said I'd start updating in August. I'm not going to be one of those weekly-updating authors unless it's a fic that I've already finished (and yes, I do have a mini one coming along the way, soon).

Now, background of this is that, when Microsoft Word corrupted all my things (I've rewritten 90% of it to this day) in June, I was feeling very low and really wanted to write something upsetting (in which I did), but then wanted to get on to a lighter note. And what better way than a weird JongKey?

No, my oneshots are seriously not this short or shoddily written, nor so choppy. But I felt that, if I edited these ones, then it took away what I was feeling at the time, so I'm gonna be all sappy-and-crap and just say my feelings have been portrayed.

Currently, I'm trying to rewrite one of my favorite oneshots and I'm actually pretty sick right now (It sucks, right?). I've been procrastinating on it for a long while because I can't stand to stare at a screen or even think!

Wae.

This Note is way too long, I'll just cut off here. c:
