First, if anyone is wondering why I have not been on AIM much, it's cause of my computer overheating. So, when I am not using it, it gets put in standby mode which shuts all that stuff off. Nothing more serious-just silly computer issues.
Second, I have been wondering how student govt elections go at other big schools. I know many probably won't know being we're all grad students and (I assume) not voting in these things. But I read UM's paper and I am surprised to find that the nominees actually have "political parties." The two main ones are Students 4 Michigan (S4M) and the Michigan Progressive Party (MPP). And groups on campus actually invite all of the potential candidates representing their parties (4 total here I am aware of) and debate the issues. It's so weird to me . . . does this happen at other big schools?
And third, I cannot believe there are tons of people out drinking since 6:30 am this morning. And even more, I can't believe restaurants that normally wouldn't be open so early are actually opening at like 6:30/7 am to start serving people. CRAZY! And don't get me started on the outfits people are wearing . . . Seriously, I think it takes a real . . . "special something" for people to actually be drunk before 10 am.
I guess I should go out and get lunch so I can spend the afternoon dissecting fishes before going to the Aquatics Party tonight. Why they decided to have the prospective student visit day on today of all days, I can only imagine . . .
