Another genius author, fanfic rec, and random stuff
Another writer to add to my list of Genius Writers, that currently only houses
mmmdraco, is
scribblemoose. She is an excellent writer and writes for an array of fandoms, including Black Cat (which is how I found her) and to top things off, she's a yaoi fan too. Her writing induces so many feelings at the same time, it's difficult to stop reading. I've read her things over and over again, and each time I have the same reaction (usually squealing and smiling like a fool). She has a way of writing that makes you tingle and sitting on the edge of your seat. You never know what's going to happen in one of her fics...she's one of those writer's that always manage to pull off the unexpected. Definitely up there with
mmmdraco.
I was searching through my list of favourites on FF.net looking for other fics to rec and I found one, three actually:
Standing Strong by
cricket_chick. It's a sad Initial D fic but I'm hoping, praying, that it'll have a good ending. It's yet to be finished and I know that she's working on it. Please be patient with her and stay posted, it's brilliantly written. Check it out and see a side of Bunta that you never get to see (don't worry, he isn't OOC). You have to read it to find out what I mean. Warning: Extreme Angst and may make you cry. (click here to read). Rating: M
Hauntings by ShaleSubaru is also another exceptional Initial D fic. Again, it's sad and it makes you want to cry, but I'm hoping by some miracle there is a happy ending, some closure for the characters. It's still in the process of being written, but like Standing Strong please stay posted, like the former, it's story worth the wait. Warning: Character death and extreme (I mean EXTREME angst) (click here to read). Rating: M
Rivalry Stage 1 by Amanichan is a brilliantly written Initial D fic, one of the very few fics where the characters aren't OOC and Takumi isn't stupid and boring, just slow and not-always-there. WARNING: YAOI fever hits Gumna prefecture. Pairings are yet to be determined, but as always, Takumi is in the middle of everything. (Personally, I'm voting for Ryousuke/Takumi). Rating: between NC-17 to R (as recommended by the author, and due to the hot and steamy kiss that Ryousuke/Takumi share). (click here to read) (I am patiently waiting for Stage 2 or the next chapter for Stage 1...because the ending had me jumping up and down, waving my arms madly, demanding the next chapter...damn cliffhanger.
one_if_by_land has some really cute Initial D fics, as well as Naruto, Prince of Tennis, Hikaru no Go, etc. click on the fics link on the side (to go to the memories section) and there will be a list of fics written by the user. Brilliant writing and I hope there will be more (especially Initial D).
Not fanfic, but doujinshi that you should check out (click here). Has predominantly Initial D, some Naruto and Gintama. Wonderful stuff, I, myself, am a fan of Megamouse DJ, the way they draw Keisuke, Takumi and Ryousuke, just makes me squeal in delight. (If you're curious, my userpic is a cover they did and features Keisuke (left), Ryousuke (middle) and Takumi (right). My other userpic for my other Initial D entries are also from their covers (and features Ryousuke and Takumi)...cute, ain't they? OK, now for randomness...I'm currently using Proactiv (the acne treatment) and I've found that after 1 and a half months of using it, I've been getting these large pimples (and they HURT) and I was wondering if other users experience them too and if you're not a user, if you know this is normal? I've searched the site but it doesn't say anything about it, and searching the net just causes more confusion.
