Wedding Stuff Done Lately:
- Scheduled engagement sitting. If the weather is good, I'll add an outdoor sitting. If the weather is iffy, my sister or dad will take outdoor pictures when the weather gets good. If the weather is bad, Mike will just have to wait until another time to have pictures of us in the snow.
- Rentals: table linens, china. We're getting white china from a place in Muskegon that works with our caterer, so the caterer will clean it. We're getting some of the linens there, and some in Holland (to be more cost effective.) Each table with have a 90' white table cloth, a navy blue topper, and white napkins.
- Ben & Jerry's: times and flavors have been finalized. We just need to pay them after the fact.
- Clothes shopping: I got a bra for my dress that is loooong to squeeze in all the fat. :o) We also got a veil pattern; all the veils I've tried on are eh, and considering I'm not even sure that I will definitely WEAR a veil (pending hairstye and weather), I didn't want to spent $150 on a veil I only sort of like and may not wear. Therefore, my mom is making my veil for about $10 cost to us. Why are veils so pricey? It's netting glued to a comb with a bunch of plastic (fake crystals, fake pearls) glued into it! I can understand if I were purchasing a designer veils, but these were the prices at chain stores. Anyway, I still need shoes for the dress, shoes for the reception, other undergarments, and perhaps some jewelry. I may just wear pearls.
- Bar service: we finalized the list of booze (yesss) and made a deposit. My dad thinks we're overestimating. He doesn't know our friends.
- Hotels: we visited one more and I need to get rooms blocked at the DoubleTree (nice and has a pool), the Haworth (Hope College/downtown area, nice, no pool... mostly for Hope alums who want to be on campus), and the Comfort Inn (not so nice, pool).
- Hair and make-up appointments have also been set at my usual salon and a store downtown where a friend from high school works. I really don't wear make-up, so I need someone else to put it on me. I also need professional-type make-up that will hold up all day in the sun and look good in pictures.
