1. One book that changed your life?
It's been forever since I read it but I can remember being profoundly affected by Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins. The main character was a good king who used various relaxation and breathing techniques to extend his life long enough to be considered immortal. The principals involved are sound and I had to think that this may be the way to at least tack a few years onto your life. I used those techniques, which are very much like yoga, to help me get through a very difficult time in my life.
2. One book you have read more than once?
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. I had to occupy my time somehow during that endless "three year summer".
3. One book you would want on a desert island?
America (The Book) by Jon Stewart et al. I would need something to make me laugh.
4. One book that made you cry?
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I picked it up thinking it was a light-hearted kid's book and about halfway through, the beauty of it struck me. It's still hard to think about that book without getting a little emotional.
5. One book that made you laugh?
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
6. One book you wish had been written?
My Failed Bid for the White House by George W. Bush
7. One book you wish had never been written?
Umm... Mein Kampf. Too bad that young author never found his niche in art.
8. One book you are currently reading?
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire and I'm having a hard time keeping the hyper caffeinated, singing voices of Munchkin(lander)s out of my head while I'm reading it.
9. One book you have been meaning to read?
Anna Karenina by Tolstoy. And War and Peace for that matter.
