Fishing for opinions...

...regarding "climate change" (aka global warming).  Some of you on my FL most likely already know that I think "global warming" is a joke.  Yes, I am aware that temperatures are rising and yes pollution is a cause, but I don't believe it's of the "inconvienent truth" proportions.

Weather patterns change, they tend to repeat themselves every 15-20 years.  We finally have gathered enough data to show this trend.

I'm watching the news this evening, mostly to see if I need to call my friend about alternate methods on keeping her cats warm in case we lose power and where her snow shovel is.   They were talking about the times in recent history that were considered the coldest and snowiest Decembers in Seattle.  1990 saw a little over a foot, 1996 saw 14".  January 195? saw over 50" of snow.  Now, if I remember correctly, according to my parents, that's about the time that everyone was concerned we would be entering into the next Ice Age.   So, why, if looking at weather patterns from 20+ years ago, are we saying temperatures are warming up (besides the obvious "the ice caps are melting") and we're about to burned alive?
