I dont get it....
I have had three interviews in the last four days for Teaching Assistant/Co-Teacher job in Fairfax County Schools. What I have seen at all the places is that you could put whatever you want on both the cover letter and your resume because they don’t read anything!!! One interview I had this week asked me how I would be able to handle the position (a full time job) and be able to go to school all at the same time….helllooooo!!! I have been doing that for over 5 years…if anyone can handle it I can and have! The second place I interviewed at thought I had been teaching already for years and even after saying over and over again that I am not in a school system and I don’t have my masters yet, he still proceeded to ask me questions about my teaching experience in the school system. (The worst part is this guys is the principle of the entire school) So when I was answering the questions I just pulled shit out of my ass that I had learned from class. Another observation I have is the Teacher Assistants I have seen have been doing it for at least 5 years or even more. One woman has been at the school for 12 years. So when I explained that I only wanted to do it for a short period of time, to gain the experience for a full time teaching position they thought I was crazy….What the hell?!!! I should find out this week if I have a job for fall or not. I am one step closer to having my “what you want to be when you grow up” job. Thank heavens!
