Thank you to all my friends who voted "NO" on question number 1. Passing this would allow grocery stores and convenience stores to carry wine. eventually booze, and beer as well. Not only would this have put small businesses, such as mine, out of business, but it would have had adverse effects on the drunk driving rates in MA, underage drinking/sales/arrests, and accesability. Given that West Springfield would have gotten a total of 11 licenses to sell wine in grocery stores, and west springfield only has 2 grocery stores, then that leaves 9 licenses that need to be used...and the Ezee marts and pride stations would jump at those like a republican to the rule books. In conclusion, by voting no, no matter what your reasoning, i thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have extended the life of my family's 90 year old business, and saved a West Springfield Landmark. I will always be in debt to you for this.
