wow, short chapter this time, huh?

Yay for Piper! He got the medicine and...well, okay he did get caught but *still* cookies for him.

"I work as a doctor. I heal people. What my patients do with their lives after I've healed them is not my concern."

That line, right there? Perfect psychology right there. Great job.

I wonder why the doctor went up against Piper instead of just calling security right away. He said it himself, he's not getting paid for it. And then he winds up helping Piper anyways. A spark of something good?

"Pragmatism. I suppose you're as pure as the driven snow?"

Piper practically snarled. "I don't pretend that not looking at what I'm doing makes it go away."

I think that's the best line Piper's had throughout the entire series. It pretty much sums up his entire character, right down to him working at homeless shelters and being so passionate in his work.

The medical stuff was really detailed, but not overly in the way that a poor ignorant soul (me) would be lost. Show's that you didn't just cut and paste from some site ;)

Another thing that I loved was how much Piper cares about Trickster, right down to insisting for the liquid medicine. It was a great contrast of personalities, the urgency that the doctor is implicating in his words, but Piper doesn't see Trickster as a disease that needs to be cured and you could see that in his words.

I hope the doctor winds up ok, his personality was jerk-ish (is too a word!), but he still helped Piper and if he dies, Piper will wind up blaming himself all the more.

The ending made me squee, because a lot of people forget exactly how good Piper's ears are. He really does hear a lot of things he isn't supposed to.

Was that the Hippocratic Oat the doctor as saying?

Great chapter, very informative and had a really great atmosphere. You shifted the moods really nicely, though the pacing seemed a bit rushed.

Can't wait for more!

(I know it's a typo, but it made me grin: Was that the Hippocratic Oat the doctor as saying?

It says on the box "Food is medicine; Medicine is food", but it's more expensive than Quaker... ^___^)

Yay for Piper! He got the medicine and...well, okay he did get caught but *still* cookies for him.

Well, he managed to talk his way out of it, even if kind of inadvertently :-).

Deep down the doctor is more ashamed of what he's doing than he's willing to admit to himself, I think. Piper struck a nerve :-).

Glad we got the balance right on the medical stuff; it was challenging to make it accurate but not overwhelming. Luckily the doctor's very good, even if he is jerk-ish in his behaviour :-).

Was that the Hippocratic Oat the doctor as saying?

It's actually not in the oath itself, oddly enough, but it is a phrase that was originally associated with it (well, the latin was, anyway), so same general idea :-). He hasn't forgotten that he's a doctor...

Once again, thanks for your comments :-).
