This could actually bode WELL for poor Piper....
Word from the creative team is that we will be seeing the Pied Piper again soon... and so I present this panel for your consideration....
Director Singh's mandate would seem to include the murder of Inertia, to which Piper confessed himself an accessory when he surrendered himself to the police. Since Hartley was trying to STOP the mess from happening in the first place, presumably Barry won't stand for an innocent man's being incarcerated for that crime.
And that would seem to lead naturally into further scrutiny of Bart Allen's murder, which Piper and Trickster did not commit. And (I may be venturing onto a shaky limb, here, but what the hey, I'm an optimist) then let's consider Commander Cold's statement to Barry:
"You have the power to travel in time, but you don't even TRY to fix it. At least we are."
To which Barry replies:
"If you're going to try to ERASE crimes from history, you better make sure you damn well know it."
Now wouldn't it be nice if Barry went back in time to prevent the murder of Special Agent James Jesse, FBI? And wouldn't Jesse be a terrific ally to have, now that he's reformed, since both he AND Barry know what's it like to have been wrongfully accused and publicly reviled before heroically dying to save another's/others' life/lives?
Personally, I'm crossing my fingers for a power group of Flashes, Piper and Trickster lined up in opposition to the Rogues.
Like I said, I'm an optimist. ;D
