Turning 21

Nov 29, 2009 19:53

Well, I turned 21 on Thusday (scary thing this being an adult!), and had a magnificent time. What this birthday has proved to me is that I have the most amazing, wonderful and generous family and friends in the universe.

After going to work and uni on Thursday (boo!) My parents tooke me, Craig, my sister and my Granny out for a meal at The Globe. My mate Jenny works there - and she had decked out the table with baloons, hid confetti in the menu and basically was just the bundle of awesomeness that she always is. We had a fantastic meal, then headed back to my and Nic's flat for some drinks. It was a perfect way to spend the night. Then, on Saturday all the gang came over for some well-earned drinking (uni has been mental) and partying.

As for presents - suffice it to say I am an extremely lucky person. Everybody has been beyond kind! I got a Swarovski bracelet from my Mam and Dad (been in love with it since I started working in the jewellers), a white gold pendant and Swarovski earrings from the girls at work, a dress, a new purse and a charm for my Truth bracelet from Nicola, a locket and the most gorgeous notebook ever from Craig. Craig's parents gave me the Hornblower DVD boxset and a lovely pair of earrings, and his brother Alex gave me an Ianto Torchwood figurine. I got money from both my grannies, so I'm putting that towards another pendant I think.

My group of best friends completely stunned me - as usual. Aside from giving me the most wonderul set of presents imaginable, check out the cake they got me:

As Sherlock Holmes' biggest fan, you can guess how I reacted.

I'm a really lucky person!
