Parenting the Parent

So, my Mom is going to India tomorrow to meet a guy she met on the internet. How creepy would you find a relationship between a 50 year old American woman and a 28 year old Indian man, who have never met but after writing for 3 years are engaged to be married? I'm all for finding true love wherever it falls, but there is so much stacked up here against them I'm really hoping I'm not being too naive in supporting their efforts. She's tried to get him over here a number of times, but our government is quite cautious about allowing anyone from that region of the planet to travel here unless they are rich. It surprised even me how restrictive they are for just a simple visitors visa. Once she has actually met him and has pictures with him, she can re-apply to get him a fiancee visa, hence the trip. Now mind you, she has no money for this. She is on 100% disability for a condition she has called Fibromyalgia, heck I had to buy her house from her in addition to my own mortgage so she wouldn't lose it (though the property is so beautiful I couldn't let it get lost due to her irresponsibility). Her father passed away last year and in December she got an inheritance of $25k. That would seem a good thing, except she immediately lost her disability for a year until that money gets drained (god forbid the government let her possibly get OUT of poverty) so now she has to live on that exclusively until December. If she does actually make this work, my life is suddenly a lot easier and she has someone else to help care for her and keep her out of trouble. Plus her health is failing to the point where in another 5 years she probably would not be able to endure such a trip and she has never seen anything other than America and Canada which is a crime. But she's using like a fifth of her yearly income to go meet someone who is MY age to hopefully fulfill an internet romance... talk about mixed feelings.
