An Invitation

If you were to die tomorrow, do you know where your spirit is going?

I am a believer of Jesus Christ. I guess I've really made no secret about that. It has always been my firm belief in a Savior, the God-man who loved us enough to come down from heaven, and take our place as the perfect sacrifice of our sins.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

We cannot earn our way into heaven. Nothing we could do can wipe away the guilt of our sins. No one can claim to be purely righteous and holy. None of us can truthfully declare that we have never lied, never cursed others, never hated our fellow man, never thought selfishly of ourselves over others. We have all sinned.

And sin demands blood.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

That is why Jesus came to die for us, to shed His blood as the payment of our sins. It is only through His grace that we are saved. Not by our own efforts, because it is a gift.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 2:8-10

Salvation is a gift. And a gift must be accepted before you can claim it as yours. That is why all must come to repentance, to turn from their sins, and cry out to Jesus to save them, to forgive them, before they are given the wondrous gift of eternal life, and having God live life with you.

I see and know so many people who are hurting, and it pains me that I have the key to their happiness, the key to their release, and I try to share it, but sometimes, it is not received well. And they continue in their pain. Becoming a believer does not mean no more problems. On the contrary, I got even more problems when I came to believe. But it comforts me that I have a God who is bigger than my problems.

Whoever is reading this, especially my LJ friends who have not believed, I urge you. Don't wait. Tomorrow could come, and maybe, just maybe, your life is over. Are you sure of your destination when you die? Please think about it. If not, then ponder this.

If you choose to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you go to heaven and enjoy eternal life, an eternal kingdom, with the Creator of all things.

If not, your sin will condemn you to eternal suffering in the fires of hell, as eternal separation from God. We were not made to be apart from Him. We were made by Him and for Him.

Please do think about this. Do not shrug this off as if this is unimportant. It's very important. Your decision could decide where your spirit goes after you pass from this life.

If you are ready to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please do pray the following prayer:

Dear Lord, I come before You and acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I pray that You will forgive me of all my sins, past, present and future. I ask for Jesus Christ to save me from my misdeeds, and accept Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you so much for Your great love. In Jesus' name, amen.

If you prayed that, then I welcome you to the family of God! I encourage you to join a church so you can begin growing in your faith. If not, chances are you will turn your back from this decision and probably forget all about this. Please do get in touch with fellow believers and learn more about God and His Word. Read your Bible. Pray.

May God bless you, and others through you.

To God be the glory!
