Whose life is it anyway? How gender variant and transgender people are represented in the media.

Has the media helped or hindered the efforts of the trans community? What are some of the issues that the mainstream society and the larger LGB community should know about trans and gender variant people. Guest speaker Mara Keisling, Executive Director of National Center of Transgender Equality, will speak on the national efforts of the trans movement and why it's important for trans folks to shape their own representation and the national dialogue.
