it's about time

Hello Livejournal.

Time for updating, methinks. It's been almost two months or something since last time and I think the world deserves to know what fascinating things have happened to me during that period. Erp. Well, work has been a bit crazy - as in, my job, market researcher for those not in the know - last week my shifts changed from 5 til 9 to about 3 til 10 or later - end of the project for that month. Long arduous shifts, tedious work, however the pluses were as follows:

*free dinner every night of the week
*$40 ColesMyer gift voucher
*being allowed to work on my uni essays whilst working (V V V USEFUL!)
*the last night of the project they gave us all pretty much unlimited supplies of champagne. Needless to say, myself and many other coworkers got fairly intoxicated during the shift, which made for hilarious telephone interviews.

What else. I've been sick a bit - chest infection, followed by allergic gross leprosy-styled skin reaction to antibiotics (thankyou doctor), followed by random food poisoning most likely caused by sushi purchased in the city. Pleasant. Monkey's been sick too - random hives that aren't actually hives. They aren't catching and look pretty mad. My sympathies nonetheless.

Been babysitting a lot too, which is wonderfully easy money on a Saturday night, though it does come with the added perk of having to clean up shit every couple of hours. The youngest one, Sophie, has mastered the art of acknowledging when she has dirtied her nappy, taking it off herself when I'm not looking, and handing it to me with a very serious expression on her face coupled with the short but to-the-point sentiment "Wee" or sometimes if I'm extra lucky "poo". ahhhhh.

Spending a lot of time at Stephen's (what's new), listening to pop music and the Rent soundtrack (I know almost all the words now!), discussing the finer points of Winona Ryder films, pseudo-intellectualism, fashion (mostly his) and of course, caca. We said goodbye to the apartment last night with a group of friends, and Christian and I stayed over and didn't leave til about 3pm this afternoon. Stephen wouldn't let us get out of bed until about 2.30, lol. We sung, danced a bit, bickered, analysed and shed a tear about the loss of Casa de Caca - I didn't realise how attached I had gotten to that place, or maybe just all the memories that were born there. I've grown immeasurably fond of the little trio that the three of us have formed, and I hope the Moonee Ponds move doesn't fuck that around. Or else I'll be found wandering the streets of Carnegie at odd hours of the early morning, singing 'Hung Up' to myself. Not like this.

;)

Aaaaanyway uni is fine except AHH WORKLOAD ESSAYS OF DOOM. Pomo essay and screenwriting treatment due this Thursday *fingers crossed I have it done on time*. A bit scared about that. Am behind on reading and all of that codswallop so hopefully this midsemester break will give me time to re-evaluate my position. Or even just evaluate. That would be a start. SIGUR ROS CONCERT ON TUESDAY NIGHT which I am VERY excited about...haven't been this excited about a concert since Radiohead. Must have work done by then...*coughbullshitcough*...

Now I am off to bed - been a long day (wake at Stephen's, hang there, go out for late late late lunch, go home, babysit, work on essay, come home, write this) and I wish to sleep. Or perhaps watch Reality Bites, which I bought for $18 a few days ago. Yes. That sounds nice.

Goodnight world.
