Long-overdue real life update!
Haven't been on Livejournal much these days. Tumblr has been eating most of my online life.
I finished up my latest long-term freelance assignment last Wednesday, so I've been looking for something new. I hope something comes up soon. The place I freelanced is interested in bringing me back when they get more work in, so I hope that works out.
Last night I attended a talk at my school about freelancing, with information on how to set up contracts with clients, the design and revision process, and making sure you get paid. Very informative. I passed out my card to a few people, too.
In my free time between looking for jobs, I've been watching a ton of BBC history documentaries on Youtube (recommending everything on this channel), reading SCP Foundation, and catching up on some new(-ish) Slender Man video series.
So apparently Slender Man doesn't just stalk college-age boys! I found some series starring ladies!
TJA Projects, two young women set out to make a horror movie and end up having a close encounter with Slender Man, who begins slowly tearing their lives apart. They soon realize that he may be after TJ's baby daughter. Genuinely creepy at times, though there are some iffy make-up/special effects shots. I like that it has more of a focus on the relationships between the characters and less on Slender Man.
Silverelenide35, two photography students are trying to set up shoots and keep having weird things happen to them. This one started only a little while ago, but I'm really loving the slow build up, and for an amateur production it's very beautifully shot.
