We got a bit more than 2-3"! I slept until 9:00, and when I went outside I'd wager it was at 4" already and only just stopped snowing. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get to work tomorrow even if it doesn't start again; it's supposed to get down to 10F tonight. All that snow is just going to stick and freeze, and that will be even more dangerous to drive on than snow.
It's proper snow, too: dry and powdery, not wet and slushy like snow here in the deep south usually is on the rare occasions that we get it. The kind of snow that creaks when you walk on it. I haven't experienced that since leaving California. I forgot about the muffling shshsh sounds it makes.
I made maple bacon oatmeal for breakfast, and since my standard hurricane day lunch is beanie weenie in the crockpot I figured that would also work for a snow day.
I've been out a few times, to take some photos, but only as far as the foot of the driveway. I don't really have the proper footwear to venture out more. There were tire tracks in the street the last time, so some idiot is out driving around in it. My dude, where are you even attempting to get to? Nothing is open! Stay home!!
Other than eating and slopping around in the snow, I've just been journaling and fooling around on TikTok and RedNote. The Meta-fication of the former has begun, I see some scammy crypto shill every time I open the app. As for the latter, why do I keep getting told "RedNote supresses LGBTQ content" by people on Meta platforms--I have bad news for them--when every time I open it I see some "Here's the gay community in [insert name of Chinese city]!" post?
I guess that's one reason why propaganda works: You get so exhausted with trying to figure out what's true, what's a lie, and what's some 12-dimensional chess move combination of both that you just give up and start taking everything at face value.
