I figured if I'm going to be making more tiny art I should invest in a magnifying glass. I've been using one, but it's a somewhat crappy plastic magnifier on the end of a letter opener, it was a freebie Phil got at a medical conference years ago. I bought one on Amazon that has adjustable magnification and lights up (it takes batteries in the handle). It should get here tomorrow with the package of miniature bell jars I also purchased.
I went to Aromatic Infusions this afternoon, the 50% off essential oil of the week was cypress, which I'm low on. I also got a spearmint eucalyptus soap and a couple more steam eye masks. I still have several from the package I bought from Amazon, but I think I fucked up and accidentally bought non-scented ones. They still warm up like the other ones, and I think they actually fit better; most of the time it's still in place when I wake up in the morning, whereas the other ones usually come off at some point when I change position. But I really like the lavender and chamomile scents of the brand that AI carries.
Rouse's had a whole bin of the dark chocolate Elmer's Gold Brick Eggs on clearance (made locally in Ponchatoula), so I bought a 6 pack. I took 1 and let Mom have the rest.
I'm still not in the right headspace for a book told from the POV of a murdered child, and I was kind of in the mood for some true crime, so I started re-reading The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher. Which involves... a murdered 3-year-old. Well, like Dickinson said, Ourself, behind ourself concealed, should startle most.
