Aromatic Infusions was having a 40% off all essential oils for just the weekend. I got frankincense, which I'm almost out of; ylang ylang, which I recently ran out of; and geranium, which I discovered last night I'm out of even though I could swear I'd only used the bottle a few times. I didn't get it from Aromatic Infusions, it's one I bought from Amazon, and not the usual brand I buy from there (Gya Labs), either. All I can think is the bottle was somehow defective and it didn't close tightly enough, leading to evaporation? I was pretty annoyed to find only a few drops left when I opened it last night, because geranium is one of the pricier oils. Maybe not super pricey like sandalwood or rose absolute, but it's not inexpensive like orange or eucalyptus.
Things around the house are finally, slowly, starting to get fixed. We've been waiting on a part for the dishwasher for 2 fucking months, and during that time a bunch of other stuff started to go wrong with it. It wasn't drying the dishes completely, and most of them had to be swiped with a clean dish towel before being put away. It was making a LOT of noise, and in the past couple weeks I felt like the dishes smelled bad. I've actually been washing mine by hand, but David refused to do so. Then the spring on the door broke, so you had to gently ease it down everytime you opeened it or it would just crash down. Anyway, the part finally arrived, and the handyman worked on the other issues, and it seems to be working. For now, anyway; I hate that dishwasher, it seems to break down every other month.
Replacing the stove knobs has been a fucking journey. For one thing, Samsung didn't put the model number sticker anywhere on the damn thing that we could find, and Home Depot didn't have a record of what we'd bought--they probably purge them as soon as the warranties expire. Even the booklet that came with it didn't have a model number on it, likely because the information is relevant to more than one model. But when the handyman came to fix the dishwasher Mom showed him the knobs, and he just happened to recognize them. He came back the next day with a couple, one for the back burner and one for the front, and he's going to order 2 more. Lord knows how long that will take, but at least for now we have a couple of burners that can easily be used.
