Weekend accomplishments

Saturday I made eggs and toast for myself and the 'rents, then dusted my bedroom. I went to CVS, Lagniappe Records (with a pit stop at the ice cream parlor on the way), and Rouse's; didn't bother with the carwash because it was raining. Phil was watching football when I got home and hadn't had lunch, so I gave him some peanuts and cheese slices. I swept the stairs, then did some work in my planner. After supper (David made something from TikTok, some kind of vaguely Chinese-American chicken and rice dish that was pretty good) I watched some more of the second and last season of Hunters. Initially I liked it more than the first season, because they really leaned into the wacky alternate reality of it all. But once they captured Hitler it kind of lost all the tension. I'm not sure I even want to watch the last episode.

I also decided to see what would happen if I took a Delta 8 gummy AND a THC tablet, and what happened was me reading the new issue of Vanity Fair and laughing hysterically for way too long over the name "Ducky Thermidor". I think I should just pick one edible at a time from now on.

Sunday I made waffles and bacon for breakfast, then vacuumed the downstairs rugs. I painted and watched Dateline, and changed/washed the bedsheets. After showering I did a load of clothes and one of towels, made some no-bake chocolate-peanut butter bars, and made the 'rents lunch. Supper was a recipe from Washington Post, chicken with orange sauce and toasted pecans. Served with wild rice and chopped salad.

The dessert was from Everyday Fresh. Most of the desserts in that section are fairly low sugar; this has maple syrup, chocolate and peanut butter, but no added sugar, and no flour--just rolled oats and coconut flour. It was actually supposed to be almond butter, but do you know how much that costs? I could spend an extra $12, or substitute it with something I knew we had like 4 jars of at home.

(Sorry no food photos, Flickr is having one of its periodic meltdowns and won't upload those photos.)

Here's my progress on my paint by numbers project:

I'm almost done, I just need to put a couple more coats of the white on the bleeding fairy helmet mushrooms. I love how the fly agaric came out!

I'll probably finish it tonight while watching The Last Of Us; I'll be sure to take a photo once they're done and hung up on the ribbon. Although I'm still undecided about where I'll put them.
