Saturday I made toast and eggs for everyone, then went to the grocery store. I made lunch for everyone in the afternoon and cleaned the kitchen. I did a load of towels and finally convinced Mom to let me wash their comforter; she kept worrying it would "fall apart" in the washer. I have no idea why she thought that, it's not an antique or anything. It was fine. I swept the carpets. In the afternoon my brothers and I watched a couple movies and had some pear cider. I looked into getting Mom on autopay for the water bill, but you can't do it online. I have to download a form and have her sign it, then mail it to a PO Box, so I'll take care of it Monday or Tuesday.
I took a gummy before supper and used my delta 8 vape a couple times after, which was interesting because Mom hung out with Rian and me until 11:00 and I haven't been high around my mother in a long-ass time. I haven't ever been high around her where I didn't give a single shit if she knew, so that was fun.
Sunday I made doughnuts with an espresso glaze.
Since Phil isn't taking Glipizide any more, I scrambled him a couple of eggs. But his blood sugar had been on the low side of normal, so he got a couple doughnuts, too. The recipe I use isn't actually that sweet, it's got less than a cup of sugar (1/2 cup white and 1/3 light brown) for a batch of batter that makes a dozen doughnuts. And whatever's in the glaze, of course.
I changed/washed the bed sheets and watched a couple episodes of Andor. I made a cake and a couple batches of pumpkin peanut butter dog treats. I made tonkatsu for supper again, even though we just had it a couple months ago (I don't like to repeat myself too often). But Rian really likes it, and my sister doesn't eat pork--it's not a religious thing, she just doesn't like it; she doesn't eat beef either--so I have to make it after he gets here but before she does.
Dessert was the one kind of dud so far from Snacking Cakes. It had a half cup of Nutella in it, but it also had a half cup of cocoa powder. So you could really only taste the chocolate. Texture-wise it was like if you made brownies in a loaf pan. It was good, I just don't know why they bothered putting Nutella in it.
Oh well, I needed Nutella anyway, for my Nutella orange chess pie at Christmas.
I didn't bother taking a photo of my cross stitch work in progress because I all I did this week was more filling in the yellow background. I'm about to run out of the color though, which will force me to work on other parts of the design until I get more.
