Weekend accomplishments, 4-day weekend edition

Nov 27, 2022 21:40

Thursday I made my apple pie and that was accomplishment enough for one day.

Friday I did some online Christmas shopping, but made a point of staying home because to hell with Black Friday. Besides, I've done my Christmas shopping exclusively online for about 20 years now. I honestly couldn't tell you when the last time I was inside of a mall was (not counting going into a Target that's part of a mall), but it may very well have been sometime in the last century.

Saturday I got my hair cut, went to the grocery store, and vacuumed the downstairs rugs. In the evening I did a curbside delivery Chili's run, and finished 1899. I got violently high before the last couple of episodes and it melted my brain. Those fucking Germans, I swear.

Sunday I made crumpets with sweetened ricotta and blueberry jam with bacon for breakfast.

I changed/washed the bedsheets, did some light dusting in my bedroom, did a load of towels and one of clothes, baked a cake, and watched a few episodes of Girls5eva. Busy Philipps either has a dedicated team of makeup artists who worship her, or a real scary-looking portrait in her attic. She could play Kim Kelly today.

Supper was ham and swiss flatbreads with shallots and thyme.

I figured we'd all like something light after the last few days.

Dessert was another Snacking Cakes recipe, coconut lime cake.

Here's this week's cross stitch progress.
