This was a good, but busy week for me at school. MP was sick on Tuesday, so I got to teach grade 11. It was a good experience, despite only having about 3 minutes to prepare for teaching logic. It went fine, but it took me a minute or two to remember logic from Discrete. The other teachers were very helpful that day. The english teacher who teaches beneath me (who I make fun of for accidentally eating my Pretzel one lunch) came up during grade 6 and told me if I needed any help with discipline, he was right downstairs and would be glad to help give detention to anyone who misbehaved. Others checked on me throughout the day to make sure that everything was fine. I think the students didn't even know that MP was gone. She's not around during lessons much anyway, so they wouldn't know any better.

Today I gave tests in 3 periods and also had a test ready for a grade 9 girl who is leaving for vacation early. It was quite a busy week preparing 3 tests.

Grade 6 did their projects Tuesday and Wednesday on their companies for statistics, and they were wonderful. Some of them were better than I had ever imagined they would be. Others, well... you always have some who don't follow directions.

I had a meeting with the parents of one of the students who has been missing a large portion of his homework after school today. MP had taxi duty, so was late to the meeting, so I started it alone. I was a bit nervous, but it ended up being fine. The parents were very much there to do what was best for their son, which was nice.

Today I was semi-jokingly asked if I wanted to teach 3 hours a week at the school for the rest of the year. They are splitting grade 10 into 3 levels of Math (instead of the two they currently have) which means hiring someone to teach 3 hours a week. Tempting, but I need a break, especially for only 3 hours a week. But quite the compliment.

Also, today, after picking up grade 10's tests, I told them that today was the last day I was going to be their teacher, and they all seemed quite sad about this. It was kinda nice to see they actually enjoyed me teaching them, regardless of the fact that they don't know how to be quiet sometimes. I assured them that I wasn't leaving yet.

Final piece of news about school: I'm going to the most expensive dinner I have ever been to in my life (parents, you may correct me on that if it's not true). I'm going to the PTA christmas dinner, at 50 euros a plate. Wow. I decided to go ahead and splurge on this, though. I'm looking forward to it. I'm interested in seeing if it really is worth 50 euros. But I've saved so much money on food since I've been over here I figured it was justified.

Next week I'm down to team-teaching Grade 6 and then finishing up Grade 9. It's really getting to be near the end! I still need to do quite a bit for Whitworth, though. As well as put together some things for MP for when I leave. It's going to be hard to leave, I think.
