Well, apparently, I have now been on this earth for a full 20 years. Not a bad run so far.
I feel no different this morning than I did yesterday...well apart from a general fuzziness from being up late and lack of hearing in my right ear.
So yea, the Dykeenies. They rocked my proverbial toe socks, seriously. Amazing band live, great stage presence; also helped by the fact that we were at the god damned front of the smallest venue ever! I feel very pleased with myself. Though when the bouncy jumping around started, we were thrown onto the speakers/stage as it was a knee height /le ouch/ One of the chaps who runs the event was nice enough to stand at the front and help us poor girlies survive. Though I think his concern was more for the equipment then our well being XD
Getting home was interesting to say the least. The gig started around an hour and a half later than we expected and there is currently work being done on the Victoria Line. Oh joy. It now closes at 10pm and considering we were at Kingscross, this meant getting the Circle Line at 11pm and praying to Zombie Jesus that we made it to Victoria for the last train at 11:49pm.
We made it, barely. I really never want to have to run the length of Victoria station/underground again, thank you very much.
Egad I am unfit XD
As we walked down the main street to home, we noticed that the mini fast food place is open till 1pm - Thank the Light - at this point neither of us had eaten since around 3pm and were eying up each others arms, possibly a leg, who needs them anyway.
So with 15 minutes to go till closing we nipped in to purchase the most amazing cheesy garlic pizza bread. YUM. Nothing has tasted so good at gone one in the morning.
Honestly I can think of no better way to spend my 20th Birthday than with a best mate and a great band :D
Now, I need more tea.
And to go pester Kristina; hopefully there is no bruising from last nights dive onto the stage XD /roflsocks/
birthdays ah!,
zomg dykeenies,
yay gigs!,
life as we know it
