Summer has never really been my favorite time of year. Well, in high school it wasn't so bad because it meant a real break. But even then- I hate hot weather. Ugh.

Now it basically means having to put up with your family (not that I don't love them or anything...) and for me, at least, working. Thank the Gods I don't have two jobs this summer! But still, I feel like I've become a hermit or something who just works and vegges out. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. Most of the time I thoroughly enjoy it.

But sometimes I wish I hung out with peeps more. I've seen Shannon twice, and hung out with Dean twice. But I've only seen Mary once (and there was awkwardness. Much awkwardness) and the high school peeps- mostly college peeps now!- I, ironically enough, haven't heard a peep from. Naturally this is no one's fault. We're all busy people, myself included, and it's not just up to one side to make the effort. I think that's my problem a lot of the time, I don't make the effort when I'm at home.

Perhaps I'm too used to the college lifestyle. I mean, at school I would have no trouble rounding up people to play some pool, to go listen to a band, to watch a movie, etc. Here I feel a little more awkward... Do any of my friends here like to play pool? Would anyone be interested in going to a bar and just playing a game or two? Or maybe going dancing somewhere! That would be fun too. Whatever, I'm just in the strange mood to see people right now...

I could probably easily talk Shannon into doing some of this, but we'd have to coordinate our work schedules. We can do that, though. I'm not sure about Dean and Mary. Either of you interested in a game of pool? ^_^ Or really, just hanging out. I know that we don't always have a lot in common anymore, and that I don't share in some of your favorite activities, but I would still really like to see you.

I think my sister would also be interested in doing some of these things. I mean, my god, going to a bar with her and Nik to play a game of pool would be fucking amusing, to say the least. ^_^ But I'm not sure she'd want to hang out with me. I can be very grouchy at times, and I'm not sure if that whole "I don't want my little sister tagging along" thing applies when you're both over 20. Methinks I should probably just ask her if I can tag along sometime, or if she wants to do something. We tend to like the same kind of people, I'm sure her friends wouldn't hate me overly much.

This is all a bit hampered by the fact that I'm about to go on vacation... but I'll only be gone until Thursday, and after that there's a whole two months left! Anyone interested in going to see Transformers this Friday? ^_^

Ok, that was me feeling unpopular and unloved. Though, really, most of this summer has been self isolation. I've had a lot of shit to think through, and a lot of things to deal with. Those things are still there, and I still need a lot of alone time, I think. But I'm definitely ready for friends! I miss you guys. School friends and here friends both!
