Ah a more light hearted entry, thank god.

Drove down and saw Gregory Alan Isakov play in Tucson last night. It was our 7th time seeing him, whoa! But our first time sitting front row which was fun.

We decided to push the go button on investing and finally pulled the trigger. It's exciting! So, I discovered this whole 'financial independence and early retirement' community online a couple years ago. Websites like MrMoneyMustache.com, AffordAnything.com, and JLcollinsnh.com

Anyway, I'm really into it. One of the most brilliant things I have learned is that investing can actually be really easy if you put money into a low cost index fund and forget about it. Specifically Vanguard (because they are by far the cheapest) in a fund called VTSAX which is a total market fund (similar to s&p 500). Jim Collins has a whole stock series that is amazing: http://jlcollinsnh.com/stock-series/

I wish I could talk to more people about this stuff IRL. Money is so hush hush, probably cause it's so sensitive. But it would be great if they taught more about economics/money management in school and information was out in the open. I should have been a financial planner!! I would love that job. I'm dying to ask my parents about their finances, but I have to watch my bad habit of giving unsolicited advice. They did start a living trust recently so that's good.

Trying to clean the kitchen today. Slowly but surely. One thing that is great about this new house is the view and plot. We are high up above the golf course and its so private. Been fun watching the golfers! The course is really hilly so lots of people get stuck in the sand traps and we laugh. So many birds and bunnies around too.
