Drabble challenge: rock
Caves of Androzani is regularly voted one of the best Doctor Who stories. I haven't done a DW fic before, so what better place to start?
Doctor Who: Salateen
I shouldn't have laughed when I discovered they were dying. Not that there's a lot to laugh at on this god-forsaken rock. But it wasn't *funny*. Ironic, yes, that something which extends life can kill so damn quick, but not funny.
It was a relief though. She was beautiful... and he looked barely older than me, but he was wise beyond his years. He was much more interesting than me... which would make me surplus to requirements. That was not a good place to be. If there was one thing worse than living in this hell-hole, it was dying here.
