The very reason I have issues with the Catholic church:
The Magdalene Sisters.
This film is based upon Steve Humphries' Sex in a Cold Climate.
I suggest you see The Magdalene Sisters. Go cry, be angry, wonder why Catholocism is the most hypocritical religion to date. But, whatever you do, just watch it.
The shame of being a Magdalene still runs so deep in Ireland nobody would [talk]. It was only women who’d later escaped to England who were prepared to talk. This is the film I’m most proud of. There were Magdalene Asylums all over the world, especially in Catholic countries, so this film has relevance to a lot of people.
