But where are the white ones?
WorldFest was yesterday, and I am hung over from working overtime. I was there from 7 in the morning till 10:30 at night, working on my activity (the passport thing). Luckyily I got time to wander the festival and buy some nifty things like a badass new winter beanie, complete with fluffy dangles and such. I also got a sweet Nepalese bag, some tasty food items, some sunglasses (in one of the USA booth), and a great deal on two boxes of stroodles! Yum! Don't know how I will finish them. Anyways, overall it was an incredibly long day, but I got to see my mommy, and I love my mommy.
Yamelic told me the best line that someone had said yesterday. Somebody came up to the Information Booth (where my people were) and asked, "Where are all the white people?" Because apparently he wanted some white people to advertise for this karaoke thing at his booth. My boss replied, "This is WorldFest."
Also while I was there I met this awesome older black lady who told me about her days in Austin during the 70s.
