Megified....the meme.

This is the rage over where I hang out:

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.
Creek? Puddle? My old front yard after a storm...

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.
My mom called it a buggy...I call it a cart.

3. A metal container to carry a meal in.
Um. . .Lunch pail? Not that I use one

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in.
A microwave! Haha...a pan.

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people.
Bed/Chair/Couch/Table....I live in a dorm...Anything is fair game for seating, especially the air conditioning unit.

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof.
Water spout? Drain spout? Spout...thing?

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening.
Florida room! Yay for made-up rooms that only exist in...Florida!
Or a porch, I guess. In FL, we don't really sit OUTSIDE at night, because we don't enjoy being eaten alive by mosquitoes.

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages.
coke.

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup.
pancake (or hotcake, I suppose...again, if you're my mom)

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself.
Po Boy! Sub!

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach.
I just call it a bathing suit...boy/girl, it doesn't matter. Maillot de bain.

12. Shoes worn for sports.
I slip up a lot in NY and say "tennis shoes," which is apparently a huge faux pas. My Northern friends are quick to remind me that the correct term is "sneakers."

13. Putting a room in order.
What does one call something that one never does? Should one name it anyway? Cleaning, tidying up, straightening up.

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark.
Lightening Bug...or firefly.

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball.
ROLYPOLY!

16. The children’s playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down.
see saw

17. How do you eat your pizza?
with my hands...none of that folding business for me, though, thanks...I like to savor.

18. What’s it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
garage/yard sale.

19. What’s the evening meal?
dinner or supper...depending on which part of the US I'm in currently.

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Basement? We don't have these....

21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?
water fountain
