There's a lot of Russians on here.
I found this book in the library at school with all the other children's Christmas books:
Yes, that is John Lithgow holding a cigar on the cover. It mentions stuffed pandas... that are stuffed with nails and glass. I took the book back to the classroom and left a post-it on the front saying, "Courtney-- I think this would be a wonderful book to read to the kids. What do you think? --Katie"
Clint likes the name Persephone. (Per-seffanie.) If you're not familiar with Greek mythology, Persephone was abducted by Hades and became Queen of the Underworld. You can read the story of
the rape of Persephone here, or, if you want, you can read about the name on BabyNames.com where they explain that the name means
bringer of destruction.
Yeah, great name.
Clint shall henceforth be banned from naming our child.

After writing part of this entry, Clint and I had a really long discussion about names while we ate dinner. We argued a little, but mostly we laughed and teased each other. (He likes "weird" names, I like "old people" names....) We have finally come up with names we both agree on! These are final! He and I both love the names we picked, so our baby will be one of these:
Lorelei Jane Cawood
Holden James Cawood
I will state this now and many time again, probably: Lorelei can never be shortened to Lora/Laura. Never ever. Anyway, I'm really happy about these names. Next Tuesday we'll find out for sure if we've got a Lorelei or a Holden.
18 weeks, 3 days
There's another picture where you can see my face, but I look half-dead because I'm so tired. I'm going to try to get a better picture of me the day of the ultrasound.
*happy sigh* I'm so excited to be able to tell people we've picked names out. I'm prepared for "Holden? Sounds like you're holdin' somethin'!" and "How about Holden Cash? Har har har." Or, "Sounds like you're sayin' Laura lies."
My response: "Well, at least my kid won't be another Aiden or Isabella."
