Yawn...

I had a week and a half off work on Sept 17th, so I've been back just over a week. I am absolutely knackered already.

I had to get my car fixed following my accident in August, so booked a week off, visited London, met up with Debs and Charlotte for a Wednesday evening of fun and hilarity, spent the Tuesday night in my Travelodge (that is to say, the travelodge that I was staying in, I'm not rich enough to own one) drinking with one of my best friends from workwho was lovely enough to give me a lift to London once he finished work.

I should have gone back to work on the Tueaday, but my car failed the MOT on the Monday so Tuesday was spent getting new brake pads and sorting my headlight out. Then I went in on Tuesday night for training - I can now (just about) do the manager close although some things do still confuse me.

I keep getting the blame if the inventory is wrong (ie. we've used way too much of something in one day) but last night, looking at Wednesday night's inventory, i have come to the conclusion it's one of the supervisors not doing her job properly. Eg - Wednesday night, we had 58 cans of tuna (says her counting) Last night, we still had 58 cans, and we also had about 0.3 of a can in a plastic tub, which she'd obviously missed or omitted on Wednesday.

It's quite difficult to get the inventory exactly right, as it involves a lot of guesswork where the makeline stuff is concerned. Say we have opened a bag of beef at some point. Whoever takes inventory at about 10:30pm then has to estimate how much of that bag is left, say, 0.7. But for a newbie, it's a pain in the 'arris trying to guess right.

I'd also like to know how we can get through over a whole tin of anchovies in 7 hours. It usually takes a few days, sometimes we even have to throw away some if it reaches it's Use by date, because, y'know, they aren't that popular! There were 2 tins and about 0.2 of a tin when i counted at 10:45 last night. Then i had to open a tin at about 7pm... ewwwww.

Anyway...

Between Thursday and Sunday, I did 47 hours. I was the shift supervisor on Friday during the day, and of course, it would be the day it pisses hard and we get order after order coming in... only 2 of my 10 orders went out on time, and 5 of the remaining 8 called to say they'd ordered over an hour ago, where was their pizza.

Today, when I was a driver, it was dead as a dodo. People suck.

I can tell I'm tired because the smallest of things upsets me. Also haven't been feeling great, so again, get upset easily.

Not a lot else going on in my life, but thought I'd better update my shiny new journal, so... comments appreciated and wanted :)

car, tired, long hours, holiday
