Sit down John, for Godsakes John Sit Down!

One of the best things of living in hotels all the time is the HBO.  Well that and the not having to make your bed.  Anyway, has anyone else been watching the John Adams mini-series?

John Adams is my favorite Founding Father (Yes, I have a favorite founding father.  Yes, I am a huge dork) mostly because of the movie 1776.  So, I've been watching John Adams and enjoying it, but somewhere in the back of my mind, and to be truthful it's probably more in the front of my mind, I keep expecting the characters to break out in song.  Both scripts, and I suppose the book the mini-series is based on, have used John and Abagail's letters extensively, so many of the lines are similar if not identical.   Also between using familiar faces in the cast (Detective Tritter is George Washington) and being so used to the actors in 1776 (Thomas Jefferson is not tall enough and looks like he's 19) I keep expecting the characters to do things other than  what they do.  It is very strange.  None the less, I  would recommend that anyone who gets the chance watch.  Though fair warning disclaimer:  the smallpox inoculation is extremely gross.

Also anyone who hasn't seen 1776 really should.  I know a musical based on the signing of the Declaration of Independence doesn't sound like it should be very good, but every one I force to watch it loves it.  Also, if you really want a treat: during the summer  the Independance Mall Visitor's Center does a Rocky Horror like version where you get to boo Dickinson, throw ants at the screen (they're supposed to be flies) and make snoring noises every time Ben Franklin falls asleep.  No really it's great.
