it was done soon after, so stress was thankfully over regarding battery :)
well, i haven't been learning for that long (i've only had 9 lessons with my manchester instructor...but i've had a couple more with my dad and about 5 when i was 17 haha-it didn't last). it's taken me a long time to start learning because i (a)have always felt consumed by my school/uni work and worried that if i learn to drive i will be giving up precious time (b)had issues with my dad and kind of half waited around for him to actually WANT to teach me and then finally accepted it wasn't going to happen and (c)haven't had the money. however, my mum is helping me fund it now and it's a lot cheaper up north compared to the midlands. i really hope to be taking my test some time soon after xmas, but i'm just taking it easy: no rush really.
gah, i know what you mean about career plans and driving! not that i can even bear to think of career plans for more than a few minutes, but i'm guessing being able to drive might ease things slightly. i'm not sure i really like driving yet though... heh, you should go out with your dad and annoy him with a snails pace speed! i like fire engines :D ...i probably sound a bit weird saying i like an emergency service vehicle :S xx
everytime i see a fire engine i say 'daddy!!!1' because we always used to do that when we were out with my mum when we were little and he was at work. now, however, it causes some interesting situations (ie when a load of fireman at uni hear me say it). oops.
