Bloggityblog!

So I'm starting a blog about exploring! It's called The DIY Explorer, and I'm looking for your input (see below). It's not your ordinary travel diary. There won't be any today-I-went-here-and-did-this travelogues, although I'm sure I'll tell some of my crazy stories. Mostly what I'm focusing on is "empowering independent explorers everywhere" -- at least that's what my brain has come up with as a motto so far. My target audience is anyone who wants to travel on their own and think for themselves.

The website itself is currently at http://www.wurble.net/blog, where I'm doing a trial run before moving it to its own domain. If you have thoughts or advice about what it should look like, or if you feel like helping me with design, layout, search engine optimization, etc. then let me know!

I've got ideas for about 100 entries written down so far. In the past I've failed at blogging because I didn't think I had anything useful to say, but I think I've finally found a topic where I do have a lot to say, and it can definitely be useful to others. If you have ideas for what I should write about, let me know that too!

Most importantly, I'll be posting some of my DIY Explorer blog entries here, and I would be very grateful for your feedback. Any constructive criticism regarding content or writing style is highly welcome.

I'm aiming for entries to be insightful, honest, and useful. I'm not aiming for them to be especially short, or filled with "easy to follow" tips that are overly trite and vague. The most important thing is that my writing provide valuable insight to the reader.

"Why explore?" was my first entry, and I posted another one today. What do you think? Is my writing actually insightful? Is it too melodramatic? Are there any logical flaws, or any connections I didn't make? Is there anything you think I should add?

Of course, if you'd like to actually respond to what I wrote (as opposed to evaluate my writing style), you're welcome to do that too. The best place to do that would be at the blog site itself -- that way I can save the comments there and pretend I have some readers :)
