If you are like me, you are probably sick of seeing all of the terrible images of katrina on the news and from other people and blahblahblah... Whatever.
I'm just glad that even though a good 80% of my family lives in new orleans, even though a majority of them had their homes were destroyed (which i can't even begin to imagine going to visit and not going to my grandmas house), they all were smart enough to get out in time.
I just read
this article about Bush's speech the other day. Did anyone see it? Sarah and i were lucky enough to catch this gem. I can only imagine what people who are still stranded there might feel.
Taken from the article:
"I can survive for some time with little water, no food and highly unsanitary conditions...but if I don't hear some poetic words of comfort and stirring verbal imagery from the president pretty soon, I'm a goner."
I really wish there was someone could yell at about this.
Furthermore, if anyone knows about any volunteer services to which i can donate my time (i don't have any money to donate, or else i would) please let me know.
